Last Friday, the careers fair for grades 8, 9 and 10 took place at the Edertal Comprehensive School – a joint event with the Edertal Businesspeople’s Interest Group (IEG), which can now look back on eight years of successful cooperation.
The program began with exciting presentations that gave students practical insights into various career fields. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to engage in personal discussions with representatives from the world of work at the fair. This direct contact provided first-hand career guidance and motivated many young people to think deeply about their professional futures. The organizers were particularly pleased that former students returned to their old schools to talk about their training experiences.
„It’s always nice to see how committed companies are to supporting the students and showing them career prospects,“ emphasized Heike Nagel and Heiko Hoffmann, who led the event’s organization. Both expressed their satisfaction with this year’s success.
The participating companies – including numerous local businesses – presented a wide range of training opportunities and provided information about career opportunities in the region.
A special highlight was the efforts of the 10th-grade chemistry class, who provided the exhibitors with drinks, coffee, sandwiches, and cakes. With their dedication, the students not only provided refreshments but also created a pleasant atmosphere at the fair.
The Edertal Comprehensive School and the IEG are already planning to continue this valuable collaboration, which strengthens the connection between school and the professional world and provides students with sound career guidance.
