Weihnachtliche Freude aus der Ferne: Klasse 6a der IGS Edertal beteiligt sich an „Weihnachten im Geschenkkarton“

Advent is just around the corner and the students of class 6a at the Integrated Comprehensive School (IGS) Edertal are showing their heart and commitment: Under the guidance of their class teacher Lena Illian, they took part in the “Christmas in a Gift Box” campaign, which is organized by the Edertal Youth Fire Brigade.

As part of the project, the class prepared a lovingly designed Christmas present for an eleven-year-old boy from the Czech partner community of Horní Čermná. „We all had a lot of fun creating the package and thinking about the joy our gift would bring,“ the students reported enthusiastically. Class teacher Lena Illian was also touched by her class’s dedication: „The children worked on the surprise not only with great creativity, but also with a lot of passion.“

The Edertal Youth Fire Department’s „Christmas in a Gift Box“ campaign has a long tradition and has supported the children’s homes in Horní Čermná for several years. Using a profile that records the children’s individual wishes and needs, personalized gift packages are put together and sent in time for Christmas.

Thanks to the commitment of the students of class 6a, a boy from the Czech Republic can now look forward to a very special Christmas present – and the class can look forward to the good feeling of having made a small contribution to more joy and community.
